General Preparation Guidelines

Each type of imaging exam will have specific preparation guidelines.  These guidelines ensure your comfort and safety, in addition to obtaining the best possible results for you and your healthcare provider.  A Suburban Imaging representative will confirm your appointment 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam and review the preparation instructions.  These exam preparations will also be communicated to your healthcare provider’s office upon the time of scheduling your appointment.

General Guidelines for All Exams

  • Arrive 15 minutes early for registration
  • Bring complete insurance information, including your insurance card
  • Bring your appointment form
  • Notify Suburban Imaging staff of known or possible pregnancy.
  • Bring any previous x-rays if requested by your healthcare provider
  • Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing
  • Notify Suburban Imaging staff prior to your appointment for any special needs

Contrast

Depending upon the type of exam, you may be given a contrast agent injected through an intravenous (IV) line placed in your arm.  For your comfort and safety, Suburban Imaging only uses non-ionized contrast, a safe FDA-approved contrast agent.
